3M - CAPITAL SAFETY (DBI) TRAUMA SUSPENSION & FALL PROTECTION RESCUE

Description: This hands-on session is part training and part demonstration. Learn about rescue products unique to 3M. See first hand how to activate, adjust and use 3M’s trauma suspension straps. Learn how easy self-rescue can be with 3M’s Personal Self Rescue Device that attaches to virtually any harness. Live demonstrations on 3M’s RSQ rescue retractable with hands-free controlled descent, Rollgliss R550 Rope Rescue system (manual or with rescue assist cordless drill attachment) & the Rollgliss R350 pre-rigged rope rescue and positioning system. Improve your knowledge of rescue systems and techniques.

Description: This seminar provides instruction on the differences between “standard” fall protection anchors and fall protection anchor points that are used for window washing or facade maintenance. Learn about the performance requirements and differences between ANSI, IWCA and OSHA anchor points. Learn about anchor point planning, set-back distance, understanding angles and the use of Horizontal Lifelines (HLL’s). What is a certified anchor point? How is it tested? What are the responsibilities of the building owner, employer or subcontractor? Learn about OSHA’s requirement for frequency of certification and documentation.

Description: This highly interactive workshop focuses on rescue systems and techniques that are exclusive to Miller Fall Protection. Learn how to properly implement and use Miller’s Relief Step. Observe a simulated rescue that utilizes the Miller QuickPick system and remote rescue pole. See a live demonstration of the versatile Miller SafEscape Rescue & Descent system. This session will provide insight for improving and upgrading your rescue plans and procedures.

 


Silica Track

Description: An easy to comprehend presentation on OSHA’s 1926.1153 Silica regulation. Participants will gain insight into the key components of the regulation and the health hazards associated with working with silica. What are the differences between OSHA’s previous requirements and its new Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL)? How do I use Table 1? Help my task is not listed in Table 1? I rarely cut, core, drill, mix or saw concrete, does this standard affect my company or workers? What are the medical surveillance & record keeping requirements? This program will answer all these questions and more.

 

SILICA “THE NEXT STEP”

Description: This seminar will discuss Competent Person requirements, training, housekeeping and how to create and implement a Written Exposure Control Plan. Attendees will gain knowledge about air monitoring, industrial hygiene sampling and how to use Objective Data. Attendees will learn how to bring their silica program into OSHA compliance.

 

PPE RESPIRATORY PROTECTION

Description: This educational session will provide insight on choosing the right respirator for protecting your workers from silica dust. What to do if your employee refuses to shave or cannot obtain a proper seal. How to care for, inspect and maintain your respirators. Choosing the right filter and how long will it last? What are my options for fit testing my workers? Can I be trained to fit test my own employees? Do my employees need a pulmonary function test, physical, or chest x-rays? Attendees will learn about disposable, 1/2 mask, full-face, Powered Air Purifying (PAPR) & Supplied Air Respirators (SA).
