Red Baron 316/316L MR is designed for joining extra low carbon molybdenum bearing austenitic stainless steels, such as type 316 and 316L. All-position welding, except vertical down.

• Distinctive red coating is uniquely formulated for outstanding
resistance to moisture pickup and starting porosity.
• Good for all-position welding, except vertical down.
• Controlled ferrite content in weld for maximum crack
resistance.
• Excellent slag removal, often self-peeling on downhand and
horizontal welds.
• Lot control numbers printed on each electrode.

Typical Applications:

• A 19% chromium, 12% nickel coated electrode with over 2%
molybdenum, designed primarily for welding molybdenum
bearing austenitic stainless steels such as type 316 and 316L.
